On Disconnect’s one-month birthday, I thought I’d share some usage bits and bobs. Here’s a performance snapshot from Monday — Disconnect is now the 112th most popular and 67th highest rated of the 11,000-odd extensions and themes in the Chrome extension gallery and Facebook Disconnect, the 84th most popular and 10th highest rated (the user and install data is anonymous and collected by the extension system not the extensions themselves):
More importantly, commenter Chris dug up this mind-blowing video about Facebook Disconnect (the Facebook Blocker extension noted in the video hides rather than blocks Facebook resources so isn’t a suitable privacy-protecting substitute for Facebook Disconnect on Firefox or Safari):
Letters to the Editor
Sorry for not shipping this week. I do have a Safari build I’m happy with now but agreed to some promotion stuff a while back I’m not sure of anymore (sorry for having to be so vague, too — I’m trying not to step on toes here). I hope to have things sorted in a hurry.
Hello!
Where Disconnect for Firefox? I need it!
What's the difference between Disconnect and Facebook Disconnect?
Is Disconnect enough, or do I need Facebook Disconnecct as well?
Firefox? :(
firefox? D:
lol?
The Safari version is and has been available: http://disconnecter.com/.
I’ll probably do a newsletter and blog post about this version after the next code push.
what about firefox? :((
Chrome is good but I am used to FireFox, and I am badly looking for a FaceBook Disconnect........ When are you going to push the FB disconnect for FireFox or you won't as you want us for your chrome.

Disconnect is a superset of Facebook Disconnect, does everything Facebook Disconnect does and more, and — yes — is enough.
On my machine! (Details: http://byoogle.blogspot.com/2010/12/100000-disconnecters.html#comment-175933338.)

Thanx, Brian. Will definitely ask for a copy of it as soon as I am back at my home town.
Hi, do you plan to release Disconnect as an Opera extension? Porting it shouldn't be too much work since Chrome and Opera extensions are quite similar.
In the words of Nancy Kerrigan, why?
A suite of GREEN and ORANGE icons? Someone has never tried being colour-blind.
Ooh, thanks for letting me know. What works better? Green and red, I assume, since those colors seem to work for traffic lights?
Excellent extension, my only issue being that it prevents the Facebook sharer bookmarklet (https://www.facebook.com/share_options.php) from working - please add an exception for this, as it's 100% opt-in anyway.
What versions of FF does Disconnect support? That is not listed on the Addon page. I get a popup about the version of FF is not what Disconnect expected.
Thanks
